I was driving home from Pullman today and decided to check out Palouse Falls since I hadn't been there in a while. It's a short hike, but involves crawling down some steep rocks if you want to go all the way to the bottom. You have to hike around the hill to the left of the falls in the pictures and scramble down a small slide (or just sit and let the loose rocks do the rest). Things are still pretty green down there, but that will all dry out come summer. I've seen rattlers there before, but today it was cooler, so they weren't out. If you're in the area, it's a great way to kill an afternoon.

Nice pics- it's more than a way to kill an afternoon. biggrin.gif It's one of the state's treasures but is apparently too far off the beaten path for most to visit. That's fine. The canyon is way cool and it's fun to explore both above and below the falls. up.gif

Thanks for the pics. It was 25 years ago that I was there over Memorial Day weekend and it looked just as beautiful then as it does now.

Thanks for the pictures and the reminders. I grew up in Seattle but spent about 12 years on the east side of the state. Took me a couple of years to finally appreciate the beauty of the desert. Spent alot of time in that area along the Snake River, fishing, hiking, agate hunting ect.
