Ice girl, (I just love that name) we are discussing the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie river road! That lovely little road accessable from behind Kens' Truck Town. The last lonely exit off of I-90 into North Bend. TB

Er BPJ, don't you have a winch on one of your rigs that could move that twig?

Yo Randy. At what mile point might that minor obstruction be? I was up the MFK road on Saturday 6/8 enjoying this year's FINE crop of potholes. We only went as far as the MFK/Taylor trailhead. A clearing large enough for landing Space Shuttles and sporting the ever-popular faux-wood concrete outhouses. The giganta-log looks to me like it is a mile or two upstream from Dingford. With enough boy scouts and axes (and a chain saw or two), I can foresee a nifty service project! I think a lot of it would be burnable.

The washout is near the end of the road, just before you get to the hardscrabble lakes "brush trail". I doubt that washout will ever be passable - there's a lot more debris than just that tree in the way. There is another large tree blocking the road a mile earlier, but presumably that one can be taken care of with a chainsaw.

Arg, 42" tall tires. I'll CLIMB over it! Whats the washout like? Way deep, like the previous one, or just a bother? Do you mean the road/trail with the crane on it? Is that where the washout is? I need to get my three 4x4 wheelers ass up there for sure! TB

Lopper. About a mile before the DM trailhead. There is another minor slide or two before the one you see here and another big one after it. There are two large trees across the road around 2 miles before the DM trailhead.

Ugh. Mike Collins tricked me into driving up that road Monday! We had a great trip though, it was almost (but not quite) worth the drive up that road I swore I'd never go up again. Poor car with 250k miles now has 500k worth of damage to the steering and suspension. Just kidding, Mike! Hey there is quite a good trail (steep like Mailbox) going up to Greenridge Lakes. See his report on WTA.org

repair party. Screw the FS. Who's up for a couple evenings after work with chainsaw, shovels, chains and winches?
