I tried to do a portion of that route last November (starting at the Easton end). I didn't think it was a very scenic hike and found the trail somewhat difficult to follow (of course, the snow didn't help) with numerous small creek crossings, one of which I fell in with my camera (which has survived just fine thanks to my food dehydrator). After the creek dousing I decided to hike up to the relay tower which wasn't anything special either. I'm sure the views from Thorp Mtn, etc. are good, but the area just didn't leave me with the feeling I wanted to return any time soon (given there are far more spectacular places to hike).
