In today's Rant/Rave in the Seattle Times: "RAVE To the hikers on the trail to Snow Lake for their concern and support when my husband lost his footing and tumbled down a steep hill. He was bleeding profusely from many wounds, and several people donated their first aid supplies to help stop the bleeding. Special thanks to Jason and Chris who escorted him down the mountain to our car, and to the woman who loaned him her hiking poles. He needed many staples for the wounds but is doing fine now." I remember providing a hiker on the Mt Si trail with first aid supplies after she fell and bloodied her leg. That was when she learned that hikers carry a first aid so that their first aid kit can be used when they bloody themselves.

Not that it would make it difference, but I always felt that there should be posting on the trailhead on the ten essentials. It could just be a page on what they are and why you need them. They always have what pass/fee is required on the trailhead and some rules, I get it would cost money but feel like it would be a good place to put a little educational information.

I may not be the smartest, I may not be the strongest, but I don't want to be. I only want to be the best I can be.
