I found it googlin for for snow conditions on Aasgard Pass in May or June. We were scheduled to spend a long 4th of July weekend in the Enchantments going The Aasgard way in and coming out Toketie. I was scared to death of the hump up Aasgard in the snow and found the early season trip reports w/ photographic evidence of the Pass from Colchuk to be an incredible advantage. Felt like I was cheating.
Then Tom dropped those aerial photos taken on a trip to N.Y. that included our entire route through the Enchantments.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
My Uncle is 52 and grew up in Leavenworth. He's spent his entire life playing in the Apline Lakes Wilderness. When I steered him to nwhikers.net and the photos so generously posted by Tom and others he was amazed, and has also spent many hours sniffing around the site.
His opinion was that the snow levels looked great for early July. I finally relaxed. It was a fabulous trip and after finally conquering Edward Mesa, my Uncle could at last look at it from Leavenworth with satisfaction.
Thanks again to all for contributing to this site. I hope to return the early season scout favor this spring.

I found this site via Google. I was doing a search on three lakes I had visited years ago. The search came up with a few posts from Backpacker Joe referencing the lakes. After reading these posts, I started browsing through the rest of the site and searching for additional info on different areas. It's pretty cool to read about areas I had either visited or wanted to visit.

I was checking out a trip report from JimK on WTA and clicked over to his site to see his pictures. He had a link on his site for NWHikers and that was how I found this site.

I came her via search engine. Being new to the sport I needed some guidance as to where to go and sometimes what NOT to do..
This board has been an incredible help to me.

years ago, I used to frequent the WTA hiker forums, but got away from that for a while. I stumbled upon this great site by just messing around on the internet...checking links out.

It's amazing what you can stumble across. Ever try [pilchuck*lakes]? I'm assuming, EH, that you'll be attending the social so you can receive first hand info on your question. Heck, some would say that you could delete your B't'b post entirely. There's a good reason for all the hush-hushedness. It's an issue of land stewardship, not privilege, not exclusion. Hope to see you there on Monday.
