This sounds an awful lot like my ex-husband. I always wondered what became of him...

In the Spar Tree Tavern in Granite Falls they used to keep a running tally of how many cans of Animal Beer (Schmidt, for ya newbies) they had sold for the year. I remember at one time it was over 120,000, surpassed only by the Red Top in Darrington for Washington state. drink.gif drink.gif drink.gif drink.gif and so on... ...even the Commies drank it!

Maybe you should know by now that calling ANYONE a commie, that is a US citizen, is not going to be taken lightly. Now be the good man that you are and admit that it was wrong. FWIW, I used to run Coors from Idaho in the '70s becasue we couldn't get it here. You know what? No one called WA commie, because of it.
Funny you say that, as I used to run beer from the Idaho border to my high school parking lot in Seattle myself, in the early 70's. People went nutz for Coors back then. And yes, that Hamm's beer commercial brings back fond memories. My folks liked Miller High Life in the clear glass bottles - "The Champagne of Bottled Beer". I'll tell you what takes me back - Carling Black Label and Beer Nuts.

My short-term memory is not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my short-term memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Wow, I wonder how much of those border town's business was reliant on selling to 19-year old Washington kids? We used to do the same, back when Coors seemed exotic. We took a school-sponsored ski trip to Schweitzer Basin my senior year, and the lone 19-year old on the trip was a very popular guy. Remember when they used to ship Coors in refrigerated trucks?

A fuxk, why do I not give one?

And that's all it is. Water. I think it's funny to hear people arguing about which mass-produced, watery skunk-beer is better. Beer should be thick and dark. The flavor should be bitter and rich.

No, no, no--you're missing the point. Hamm's had hand's down, the absolute best beer signs in the world. You gotta love the beer, while you're sitting there, watching the twinkly revolving lights bouncing off the sky blue waters. I need one of those old signs--anybody got one?

I have seen a few there on E-bay, but I have yet to throw a bid out for one.

Too straightforward--I want one to magically appear. That's probably asking too much of the universe.

If they could just write a good jingle, I would begrudingly drink their watery beer. It's the jingle!
