I was mentioning this thread to a friend and he reminded me of Heidelberg beer, in the "keg" shaped bottles. That was pretty decent stuff.
My bro-in-law has a sixpack of "Billy Beer" in his garage, and at his Christmas party a couple of years ago some lowlife drank two cans of it.
My short-term memory is not as sharp as it used to be.

Billy Beer- absolutely the worst beer I've ever tasted; worse than white can generic "BEER". The only beer my hoodlum friends and I actually threw away!

That's what I've heard. Still, my bro-in-law was upset as he'd been saving it since the 1970s. How often can you buy beer that's named for the president's little brother - the same guy arrested for indecent exposure for peeing on a gas station wall in Georgia after too many cans of suds himself. All things being equal, Billy was my favorite one from that clan!

It's probably very collectible, now. Especially if he still had the full 6er. At the time it was just crappy beer.

I remember drinking Heidelberg in college. We used to call those keg bottles "Whoop-dee-doos". The trick when buying beer used to be to figure out the most alcohol you could buy with the few bucks you had. Heidelberg always seemed to be a little cheaper so you could buy more - Whoop-dee-doo!!!
Lotto beer used to be the other beer of choice. It combined cheap beer and gambling in a bottle. If you looked under the cap, there was a chance you would win a couple of dollars.

If people are drinking Hamm's because of the jingle, they should give their ad agency a raise.
My favorite this time of the year is Jolly Roger, from Maritime Pacific brewery. Really delicious with high alcohol content, so you get lots of bang for the buck.

That makes Olympia

I do miss those old Oly beer commercials. Liked the beer too. Now I drink Henries blueboar ale and sometimes Beck's or Heineken.

I didnt mean to say anything bad about Pokey, its just there isn't another fire crew that could pay me enough(even close) to station out of there again in my life. For that, I would put a 100 dollar bill on.

Check out this site for some great beer reviews. Well, relatively great. Okay, it's crude and irreverant. Judge for yourself...here's what they had to say about one type of malt liquor: "It packs a hell of a whallop and costs less than a buck a can. Seconds after finishing it, I quit my job and vowed to never wash again."
A fuxk, why do I not give one?

My Dad found me some really oddball beers for xmas:
Monty Pythons Holy Ail - This I want to find more of. Good stuff.
Dirty Dick's Ale - Never has something with the words "dirty" and "dick" in the same sentence tasted so good.

I picked up some Admiral Ale at Trader Joes a couple weeks ago. Pretty good stuff, and a mere $3 a six pack.
