Nice shots! These photos are spectacular - especially the close up of the ridge with the splintered granite spires. I have some pictures from Colchuck in 1981 and was comparing them with these. Thank goodness some things stay the same.

Fantastic trip report and pictures, oh how I'd love to go this year, but too much else on the plate.

Thanks for all the pictures showing the route up Colchuck. It's one I'm planning in about three years, for my final Top 100 peak. I'm surprised to see Colchuck Lake so completely melted out already. Also nice pic of the climber on Argonaut.

Your welcome Matt, I am kind of a picturholic, I guess it's a futile attempt to hold onto the moments, but the beta comes in handy agree.gif . The snowfield / glacier lied back alot more than I thought it would looking from Colchuck Lake in the past. I'd love to get back up there and do Dragontail from the snowfield side, but thoughts of the Colchuck Lake trail makes me want to do something else first. It was neat watching the climbers. Maybe again before the 15th, as part of a summer thruhike, or after Oct. 15th. There was a guy camped up in the lower moraine, that would make for a sweet alpine start up.gif .
