This trip report has been done recently, so we won't elaborate too much. It's a bit of a hoof up to Mt Baldy, so we knew we'd be doing a little headlamping with our RTD start of 6:20pm. The heat of the day was getting better, though, which made the 4200 foot climb just a tad easier. Key word: tad. We consumed plenty of water on our "breathers" and finally reached the summit 2 hrs later.

Whippet shake Tyler from ridge traverse to Baldy Heading up to the false summit Rowena, sunburst, and summit of Baldy Baldy Silhouettes Cloud streak above Warrior and Constance Rowena on Baldy summit Baldy view Jeremy on Baldy Tisha caught after shutter delay Olympus from Baldy Mystery and Deception from Baldy Kiefer on slopes of Baldy Whippets are always game for treats Warrior and Constance clouds
We met another couple hiking up for the sunset lights on Baldy, so we delayed awhile before heading back down with them.

A fun and worthwhile Race the Darkness trip.

Definitely! It was about 10pm before it was necessary to don the headlamps. Love this time of year!

Phil....could have been possible, but there was no one fitting that description up there. Just the really nice couple we met and another guy (not that age, though.) We're sure glad he walked out alright, though.

Nice one guys . If done again in the future, I would highly recommend continuing along the ridge to the summit of Gray Wolf Peak. The views are tremendous! Nice job .

Skimpyphud - We were planning to do Greywolf Peak, but Jeremy had clients he had to meet with earlier in the day so we only had time for a RTD instead of a full day hike. We would really like to follow the ridge from Baldy to the Needles, hitting Greywolf along the way.
