Went up to North Hozomeen this weekend. You gotta love this mountain. I will spare everyone the TR and skip straight to the photos. Understandably, a lot of snow has melted in the past two weeks, so the mountain looks a bit different. What bugs the prior ascent party lacked, we gained 1000 fold. Hands down, the worst mosquitos I've ever experienced. I think the views made up for it, though.
Martin and Jeff heading up the middle snowfield. Northern Pickets to Custer Ridge and Upper Ross Lake. More summit views. Jack Mountain to Mt. Prophet and the Southern Pickets. South Hozomeen from North. Panorama with Lake Hozomeen and Ross Lake. Northern Pickets Panorama. More summit views. Looking North. The Chilliwacks. The summit block from below the North Face. Looking east to Freezeout and Castle. One last look.

Good times! There always seems to be a balance between the suffering and reward's.
Thanks for the pictures Tom.

Don't let the TRs fool you! Judging by the summit register which is all of about 9 pages and dates back to 1992, you are most definitely in the majority of those who have not climbed it. After seeing Matt's phenomenal photos in his recent TR, I became determined to be part of the minority who has.
Not to over-beta everyone, but do yourself a favor and do it in early season when there is continuous snow on the face and no bugs. The rock may be mostly class 3, but there are moves of class 4 on friable rock that really hang you out there. There are very few protection opportunities, and good luck finding a reliable rap anchor. The climb is similar in nature to Jack Mountain's South Face, with a little bit more pucker factor when you take into account the drop off the West Face.
It is a beautiful peak in a beautiful area and [my] pictures cannot do it justice.
