The brewing company for beer of course. For food, head south to that town to south of R, there is a decent restaurant on the left as you head into town....in an old house.

I thought it was decided that Village Pizza is closed?

Village closed a few years back after having a fire in the kitchen. But opened up after rebuilding. We sold our cabin over there so I haven't been back but last I knew, it was still open. My vote is Village Pizza, Old #3, or the Last Resort. Village and the last resort have the best food, Old #3 has the history up.gif

Of course! I would submit that there is something special about having a beer at the source, but then I am loopy about beer. Try this: have 1-2 at the brewery and then go eat at the brick or whereever.

Heh, I agree about beer being better at the source. I used to live in Covington, La. which is very nearl Abita Springs, La. Abita Brewery makes one of my favorite beers of all time, Abita Turbo Dog. I once had a chance to try some Turbo Dog direct from the huge stainless steel tuns, complete with little bits of fermented grain... man, that was a treat. --Gray

Ate at the Brick last night and was pretty disappointed. Beer selection was OK, but they messed up our drink order, messed up our dinner order, and the food wasn't really any good (nothing like beer-battered fish that's stone cold in the center). down.gif Planning to try Village Pizza next time.

The waitress actually encouraged us to get the fish. I ordered the chicken anyway, but then after a half hour was told that the chicken would be badly burned and that I should get the fish instead. dizzy.gif
