Found this when we were bushwhacking around the Quinault today.

Beams of sunset light bathed North Bend tonight and lasted for 20 minutes or so. Viewed from Mailbox Peak during TNAB.

Wow, cool lighting.
North Bend seems to get some special lighting effects, being right on the western edge of the mountains.
One time I was driving through North Bend, and the setting sun cut through the clouds with a band of light that made a single glowing strip on the side of Mt. Si only about a couple hundred feet high but stretching horizontally across the whole length of the peak.

bunch of great shots...makes me yealous...simply yealous! LOL! Thanks to all for posting....we all enjoy these eye candy treats! And, we all enjoy "the doing of it"/ the living of the adventure and the chance to snap a photos and share it. Vicariously, I enjoy skier on the high ridge...what a snowy place! Mailbox delivered a nice sunset view. Here at edmonds, the sun slipped below the edge of cloud cover, the top edge of the orb still hidden by cloud, the bottom edge of the disk sliding from view behind a low ridge on the Peninsula. The entire "sunset" was about 2.5 minutes.
Gosh...Lewisia tweedii is getting some attention. Neat! I love seeing every shot....every plant is unique and fascinating. Great job on the photos.
Trev's Smith Rock....if that is the poor work you do as awakening, then keep the sand in your eyes and shoot, shoot....what splendid photos, once again!

Thanks, Obi!
I took it from on top of Mailbox Peak just east of North Bend last night during the TNAB climb. TNAB report should be posted shortly by one of the attendees.
