It's the training I couldn't deal with. My longest run is 3 miles, and that's all I think I want to do. I love it, I really do, but I can't imagine running 13.1 miles (or 26.2 for that matter!!). I get sort of bored after awhile. I did recently alter my route, so I have something else to look at (which also brought me to a remote route, at night, where I heard coyotes last time, so that's some added excitement!). I might push up to 5 miles eventually but I think that's as far as I want to go. I still think you're all crazy. lol.gif

The training can be tough. And, if you don't enjoy it it is probably best to do something else. It can be addicting so be careful. lol.gif I just got in from a 19 mile trail run on a perfectly gorgeous morning. Crazy as it may sound to non runners, it was pure enjoyment! agree.gif

Thanks but I think YOU need the congratulations. I was telling Canuck that it was the training miles that I had the hardest time with. It was getting pretty boring out there by myself. I spent a lot of time talking to my dog. huh.gif I've already decided that my first marathon will be the Maui Marathon. If I'm going to be out there for 5 hours, I want pretty scenery to look at. up.gif

Maui is pretty. Just remember that it can be hot there and training in western WA does not prepare you for the heat. Mid September is the heart of summer there and the average high is 87 degrees with high humidity. frown.gif Remember what happened in Chicago this year. eek.gif

You landed a great job, PiB. The world is your oyster. Take it by the tail and run with it.
