After reading The White Cascade a short while ago (thanks ML!), I've been meaning to stop by this trail.

So, this afternoon I found myself up at Steven's Pass (along with the rest of the State so it seemed) and I drove right past the turn off for the eastern trailhead.

Well... rather than drive back up the pass I decided that I'll just start at the Interpretive Center and see what happens.

There were lots of people at the parking area, so I shared some of the info I gleaned from my recent book reading and then proceeded up the switchbacks to find Windy Point Tunnel.

Well done switchbacks, by the way... plenty steep and right to the point!

Enjoyed the scenery immensely!  A very pleasant trail and I look forward to visiting the Wellington side in the future.

I guess they just opened the Windy Pass trail....I went up it while it was under construction and unfinished.....VERY nice job of trail building, with tons of rocks used as steps....I think that trail will last a long, long time....isn't the elevation gain about 700 feet? Pretty cool, just 3 steps from the highway.
