Comrades, There is a motocross track proposed for the Mtn. loop Hiway just outside Granite Falls, on Sand Hill, near the turn out for Green Mtn./3 Fingers. It sounds like a slam duck. This is the same guy from Monroe who got tossed out cause of zoning. Big bummer for my 'hood. Anyone got any clout with county council? Tom Lake Stevens/Granite Falls

My initial reaction is 'anything to keep them out off the trails'.

Hey, look's like they're getting ready for the Fremont Solstice Parade. up.gif

I don't know the history of this - was there another track planned prior to this one? Do you know how much area the proposed track will cover?

Hmmmm. My 13 year old puppy and I navigated up to a trail that is open to motorbikes. We hiked it a ways and it is the cleanest trail I've ever been on. Did not see any garbage at all. I'm thinking that bikers are either very neat and tidy, or somebody picked up after them. up.gif

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

I don't have a problem with either the track or its location. Seems like a good place to put one of these areas and I know a lot of people who enjoy ORVing. BTW, what's a "slam duck"?

ORV riding on new Mt. Loop Trail
Is the new park affecting any trails or trail heads?

I don't have any problem with bikes on trails that are in non sensitive areas. I am not elitist, but obviously I would prefer to hike without bikes passing me. It's only happened once, and along with hossies and sledders, they were very polite people.
