Took a sick day from work and thought I'd try a small jaunt up Mt Zion. Not really hard ... But really nice and quiet. Had the entire place to myself. From what I understand, the summit used to have a big fire tower which has since been destroyed. Now there's not much on the summit ... and really not much of a view either ... at least on the day that I was there.
Snow caps More snow caps This is the first shot of where I'm headed Starting off This was a real nice well kept trail Another summit shot in the sun ! Got some brief clearing A little more clearing
At this point, I followed a small trail off the summit to a ledge that is reknowned for it's views since the view from the true summit is nothing to scream about. Crawling up to the ledge was kinda hairy but worth every bit of effort.
On the summit in the clouds ! What a view while I ate my lunch !

Yeah, the hardest part of that hike is navigating the road/maze to get there. On a non-cloudy day though, there are some okay views.

Crabio, am looking forward to your further explorations! Fun to see these places through another's eye/perception. Hope lighting is better for your next trip. It gets mighty dusk - like around these parts, November - February. Happy Trails!
