"Dirty Deeds... Done With Sheep"
(As opposed to "Dirty Deeds... Done Dirt Cheap")
60 pounds lighter but not 60 points brighter.

It turns out there's a name for the misheard lyrics phenomenon--mondegreen.
Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

Christmas Eve revived a memory: "Gloria in eggshells this day-oh"
Some people have better things to do with their lives than walking the dog. Some don't.

Don't know the title, but heard this Christmas song this way as a young kid:
Oh now come with me my Philistines, yonder is my name
I'm brought to you each morning
by Kellogg's of Battle Creek
The rest of the song goes:
Wait for the wagon
Wait for the wagon
Wait for the wagon
and we'll have a Christmas riiiiiiiddddde!!!

I heard "I fought the law and the law won" as "I bought the law and I won."

Oh my. I had to repeat it a couple of times before I realized what song it was.

I don't know the name of this awful song and don't want to. It's been stuck in my head for the last two days, and goes something like:
Here I ammmmm and here I gooooooooo
I got a rabbit down in Mexicooooooo
Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean someone isn't out to get you.

"You're a vegetable..." from Wanna Be Startin' Something' by Michael Jackson is what I "misheard." Silly me! But wait, turns out that is the actual line. Does that make it a misheard misheard lyric?
"These are the places you will find me hiding'...These are the places I will always go."
(Down in the Valley by The Head and The Heart)
"Sometimes you're happy. Sometimes you cry.
Half of me is ocean. Half of me is sky."
(Thanks, Tom Petty)

I think I was a teenager in the mid to late 90's before I realized that the Oakridge Boys were not singing about the Beach boys.

Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio.
Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are cutting us down
Should have been done long ago.
What can you do when you're
Lying dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?
Actual lyrics (not the italicized) are:
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground

Just heard Bruce Springsteen, now 70, at a recent concert singing 1980s his hit Born to Run.
We gotta get out while we're [unintelligible]
'Cause gramps like us
Baby, we were born to run

Jimi Hendrix..."Scoose me while I kiss this Guy...er, Sky.".
Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

For many years, I heard Gerry Rafferty's hit as "Baking Street." So for many years, I'd wondered which city he was alluding to. There are hints in these lines:
Winding your way down a baking street
Light in your head and dead on your feet
...
This city makes you feel so cold
It's got so many people, but it's got no soul
So with those clues, I knew it was a large city. Here were my top guesses:
Chicago -- "This city makes you feel so cold, it's got so many people, but it's got no soul." Fits Chicago to a T, right? But baking street? Chicago's too cold.
New York -- also has "so many people" and perhaps no soul. And it's warmer than Chicago, but not by much. So perhaps, but maybe not.
Los Angeles -- also has so many people and arguably no soul (I know, I've lived there). And it's warm and can be hot at times. But L.A. doesn't seem as heartless as the song suggests.
So I was still wondering, after more than four decades, until the DJ on the radio said the song title a few weeks ago and I caught it. Baker Street? Not baking? Oh well, I still think it's probably Chicago.
