A cloudy morning set hopes of great views on Mt. Walker down the drain. Another time. frown.gif Hoping to score on some views, we headed to Si. I'd never been. hockeygrin.gif It was very nice today. Clouds below, above, and through at times. Snow, ice, and rain. Quite snowy at the top, and not too much of a mob scene. Snowshoes not necessary, but traction devices are a must! (see below) Massive glissades through the trees too! Here are some pictures. up.gif Quick stop at Snoqualmie Falls to start it off.

Watch out for the ice! Especially between Snag Flats and MI 3. Bring crampons or stabilization and poles. Even with stabilicers there were a few spills. waah.gif Ooh, and there's a glissade track with dirt showing at the top-use it at your own risk. (well, use all glissade tracks at your own risk, especially this one) It goes a long way, but lets you out in the middle of nowhere with a capability of getting you disoriented. It is just as fast to take the trail, but not as adventurous. winksmile.gif A great day, a little wet, not windy and I liked the clouds! I'll have to check out the stampede in the summer... is it worth it?

Nice drewcoll. up.gif I love Snoqualmie Falls. I haven't been there in quite awhile. Looks like you had a nice time up on Mount Si as well.

Wow, nice pics! I especially like "rest," "Haystack Rock" and "Toothpicks." I've only done Si 3 times, and each time I swear it won't be such a long interval as the last because it really is a nice place, but it's about 4 years between trips anyway.

I've only done Mt. Si 3 times...this month embarassedlaugh.gif It's my winter conditioning/when the weather stinks/when there's nowhere else to go hike. And I actually enjoy it. Especially this winter with the unbelieveable amount of snow, it looks so pretty!

Mount Si was great last week even with the limited views. I am glad to see it was even better this week. up.gif
