Thanks to gentle pressure from Randy and donB, I signed up on this site (hope I did this reply correctly!). Matt, thank you for a great trip -- spectacular scenery and great mountain companionship. Randy, donB, Paul, GeoTom, it was great to meet you all and look forward to seeing you on future trips.

SW, yeah, I liked the simplicity of that one. My other favorite late in the day was the shadow dimples on the ridge with Baker behind.
Suzanne,
Welcome to the site.
You'll find lots of fascinating people and trip reports here.
Be careful of the saloon; it will rot your mind.
Suzanne is the kind-hearted person who laughed out loud for at least five minutes when I slipped while playing on a log and soaked my leg in Round Lake on the way back from Bluegrass.

Awesome, Kota and I are famous now!
I think my favorite is "Hikers returning ... (with Goat Mtn)"
Matt has a real knack for getting things to look BIG in his pictures.

Is the standard route up Larrabee mostly on the ridge in the center?

I think the standard route is behind the ridge to the left.

I haven’t researched where the route is, but it’s a peak I want to do.

It’s the telephoto compression effect. When you zoon in on a scene, the distance from the camera appears compressed, but the vertical size isn’t compressed, so more distant objects seem to loom close overhead of nearby objects. Thus Winchester or Goat look close & huge in these shots, even though they’re actually a couple miles distant from the hikers, who themselves are a mile or two distant from the camera.
Group at 5933 summit (with Winchester behind) Hikers returning to Welcome Pass (with Goat Mtn)
One of my favorite delights of this trip was that my summit was on a side ridge offset perpendicular to the main ridge, so we could actually see the whole ridge that the other party was traveling on, and the clear day and white snow made their silhouettes visible literally from miles away. For photos, it gave an opportunity to try to show where we were traveling in the context of its surroundings – being way out there on a high ridge among big peaks.
Way Out There (can you spot 5 people in the photo?)

I stitched together some panoramics, including a glorious full 360 from Point 5854, with lots of labels.

Nice distant group shots. You do make things look big. What a shot of the fearsome fivesome.
