Me and my two buddies did this hike back on 2/29. We had actually decided the night before to go to Greenwater Trail up to Echo Lake off 410 and we did. However didn't expect that much snow there. I have hiked the trail before all the way to rcho lake late in the year and no snow to be seen. The road to turn to go over the little bridge to park at the TH had at least 6-8ft of snow. Grrrrrrr. So we decided to head towards Mt. Rainier by Skate Creek, Glacier View or anywhere really. So we reluctantly departed off 410 all the way back to HWY. We drove through Enumclaw and shortly after passing through the town on the right there is a pull off. I f you get out and hike down the trail you come upon a RR track and the trail is on the other side of the tracks on your side of the RR track bridge that is there going over the River that feeds the falls. Once you began the hike it is very easy and snow free. It doesnt really get hard the whole hike. The trail splits to a lower/middle/and upper falls. All are beautiful view points. If you decide to go down to the bottom be prepared to get wet. And watch your step going down. The hike back out was fun and the way we went required some climbing up the falls. Very easy though a child could manage. I was pleasantly surpised by this waterfall and didn't even know it was there. I never even heard of it nor the trail. I would howver recommend it to any one. Pics below. Tell me what ya think.

Wow. Looks like the floods absolutely tore that canyon apart. The scour marks there are insane considering how small the Little Mashel River usually is. Gonna have to go back there soon to see this for myself.

I thought the UW pack forest was in the other direction by silver lake heading west on HWY 7.

I dunno, I live way north of there, Bothell, like half way to Canada huh.gif , so I just followed directions. dizzy.gif Before you posted pictures, your report mentioned tracks, then some falls. I thought to myself "hey, that sounds familiar". hmmm.gif Then when you posted pictures I thought " that looks familiar". Only time I've been to the Little Mashel falls was when I went to Pack Forest, sooooooooooo. Long Live the Giant Boulder

jabenoi, It's a small world! We were there on Saturday - we hiked to the waterfalls from Pack Forest. Good photos. Karen

Here are a couple of photos we took on Saturday's visit to the falls. One of them may be Tom Tom Falls but I'm not sure. We didn't go down to the bottom of the biggest one but looked over the edge. There's a nice campsite not far from the railroad bridge but it also looks like it could be a party spot. It's surprising how close these waterfalls are to the Alder Cutoff. Karen
