I spent two weeks visiting my mom in Arizona recently. She lives in a retirement park. I was able to go on a few hikes with her Canadian neighbors. Had some wonderful times with some wonderful people. Our hikes were in the Superstition Wilderness areas east of Phoenix. They've had a large amount of rain this past winter, so the colors were out.

My dad climbed this. BTW, "large amount of rain" usually = 2 inches. wink.gif

Home is where the hiking is. "Peaks that have come and gone four times should halt a man in his steps." -- William O. Douglas A balanced diet is a margarita in each hand.

Nice Pics! Wish I was there right now. The gecko is actually a collared lizard. They eat mainly other lizards.

Wow, BpJ, looks like you and I were there about the same time. These were taken in the Superstitions near Lost Dutchman State Park last Wednesday. My first time in the desert, not my last.......

Very nice, I'm terribly envious. My goal when I retire is to have a small place in AZ to get away from the gray short winter days here.

Let me stand next to your fire

BPJ, what were the high and low temps while you were there?

.....leaving me wanting to return over and over in what ever capacity that may be, even if one day my knees are too old and I can only see the mountains from my porch. Jason Hummel

55 or so for the low. 92 for the high. Averaged around 85 while I was there most of the time.
