Sleet, postholing, snowshoes on creek beds, and a glissade at the end. All in the name of TNAB. Seriously, you are some of the funnest people around to hike with. agree.gif
What? No video? Where's the video, Alti-Babe? lol.gif wink.gif clown.gif Then I guess I have to toss up this quick lame video from the top of the ridge. Just a little bit cold and wet on top. And this was taken before the sleety/snowy/hail garbage started falling. Ah, TNAB. How boring Thursday nights would be without it. agree.gif

ditto.gif I was thinking the same thing, Magellan. Yukon, no video? tongue.gif What, you think I can make these things happen overnight? clown.gif And besides, aren't they reserved for only extreme, epic, and swee-eet trips, anyways? hockeygrin.gif

in a weird coincidence I saw both Desmond Tutu and the Dali Lami this week in person. Glad you had a great turnout!

For me it was really more like: hairy.gif Now that a couple of days have passed, it seems my, er, middle ground has recovered alright, but my knees are still throbbing from being bent in all kinds of directions on the way in. Like I said, I'm really looking forward to some snowless hiking! smile.gif

Doesn't look like what's going on outside my window right now (Renton/Fairwood area) is gonna help that cause any. And my house is only at about 400 feet. Well nothing's sticking, but keep getting flurries. That's surely sticking at not too much higher elevations. Still contemplating what to try tomorrow. It could just be something pretty simple/basic. An old standby, Si, Tiger, maybe Rattlesnake... The snow stuff is actually fun in it's own way at least if you have decent snow, which is the problem this time of year. A postholers paradise. Hiking this summer could be interesting as the snow lingers on and on...(Well assuming we ever see summer)...

I missed you, nabbers, on Thursday (traffic problems): I was 10 min late, tried to catch up by taking a goat path across from the ATT station but it led to a cliff face which I managed to climb via a series of steepish gullies only to find myself 1,000 ft higher--and in the middle of nowhere; so I turned back while I still had some daylight for the descent. I returned to the scene of the crime today--and had a pretty good day: quite a bit of sun from the boulder field to the top (while St Peter was ****ing on Seattle as we say in Bulgar), and some very dramatic views of fast-moving clouds and mist from the top of DH. Thanks for the trench. My glissading bum and 8 canine paws extended it up the big snowfield. Lots of new snow: snowshoes were helpful, indeed, essential the last third of the way. I'll try to beat traffic next week--but the old Si trail makes me nervous (one of my boys got lost there last year). 2dd

I took a shot at labeling them in your pic. Not entirely sure I'm right, though. Btw, was that taken east of Mine Creek?

It was taken between (east of) the Garcia sign and the gunnery road. I was trying to guess the peaks on the trail with the map I had. Missed/was getting confused with the unnamed 4926 one.... Seems strange it is unnamed...

Yeah, though I've seen it referred to as DirtyBox Peak.
