Next time I do this trail, I'll go left there and see if there is a difference in ascent time. Left might be significantly shorter although steeper in sections.
Appears I have missed out on a couple of good evenings with the "pack." I just came back from alaska and all it's amazing beauty, but it'll be nice to join the herd again.

After following the trail without seeing anyone else (except Rich behind me) for quite a while I was surprised that I caught up to the lead group right about where the snow started (before the trail breaks out into the open). I must of made up some time by choosing the left track over the right.
As I recall, that's about the time you dropped me like a bad habit. I'd like to think it's because that is where the snow started and I did not have poles but I guess we know better...
