Thx David and Get Out ... I will give Robert your feedback .. I really loved the footage he brought back from our trip so I encouraged him to put some extra effort into the editing .. to make it more than just a personal trip journal so I could enter it into some film fests .. La Luna by David Michael .. he was our composer for The Irate Birdwatcher ... was actually performed with a viola-da-gamba. When David sent me his After the Rain CD and I heard it .. I was hooked ... plus this tune has a bit of a SW feel to it so I suggested it to Robert ..

A new 5-minute short of our trip to the SW this winter ... filmed and edited by Robert. Music by David Michael of Purnima Productions in Port Townsend
Just saw this...fantastic! The music is great and goes really well with the quietness of the wintery scenes. up.gif up.gif up.gif I've never been into video that much, but when done as above it's really inspirational. The parts that stood out for me were some of bits from Zion, where the foreground is in motion but the big peaks are relatively stationary. I think that perfectly captures the majesty and aloofness of Zion's cliffs.

thx gali .. that means a lot .. i'll tell robert .. the parts you mentioned were done with a glidetrack .. heavy equipment with a lot of set up time so mostly he only uses it in the front county .. though we did pack it in on our spring trip to the needles and bryce .. it's a bit tricky .. like tilt-shift .. you have to know how, when and where it will be effective .. but he gets it .. and yeah .. i totally love the effect too!

At about 1:09? That's Tom-Bomb, who doesn't know any better. We named that 3.5 mile marker the "Tom-Bomb Turnaround" because he had to turn back there last Spring when he started skating all over the trail in his sneakers. But they're perfectly fine for climbing an icy Haystack, I guess.

A beautiful, very short film Robert threw together from the little bit of footage he shot during our recent overnight backpack along the westside of Mt Rainier. The clouds swirled about us all evening. Sometimes we were even in a whiteout. The bugs were wicked. The mountain never came out. But still it was most enchanting. Music is by the talented Seattle composer Annastasia Workman. It was taken from the segment "Air" in our first feature film, Below the Clouds ~ Rainier Impressions, which many of you watched when it aired on KCTS 9 in 2006. She also scored our latest film, Out of the Mist ~ Olympic Wilderness Stories.
Evening Drift from Crest Pictures on Vimeo. We were on the move most of the time. In fact I didn't take any pix going in. But, I was rewarded that evening with some inspiring scenery to shoot, and again on our way out ... my collection is here
