Neat video, Jill, and great timing, y'all. I leave for the Sholes Glacier tomorrow morning. One thing you can be sure of: I won't be jumping over any of the danged crevasses!

I thought I'd try to capture the colors on Lake Washington Boulevard...the result fell short of what I had hoped for...but in case someone is out there that might be twiddling their thumbs for the next seven minutes.

I was asked to put together a visual summary of the goats on ptarmigan ridge we have been observing for a wild planet project, it is an education piece. It is still action, sorry not in the wildlife video business. We have faithfully counted these goats each summer for over 25 years. We had a few bad weather years limiting observations.
Interesting production, Mauri. Those Ptarmigan Ridge herds continue to be the biggest I've heard of anywhere.
One thing: if you give Jill a video camera, I'll bet she can move the "action" to the next level.

Edit - It occurs to me that your mountain goat curve applies to most of the NW mountains. Six or eight years ago, goat sightings were still relatively unusual, and pictures were special.
A few years later and goat encounters were almost expected, whether in the Olympics or the North Cascades or the Alpine Lakes or the Teanaway (and probably other areas).
Most recently, in places like the Enchantments, the goats are common and have started to become pests. Not only are they increasing in numbers, they are increasingly comfortable around humans.
Edit 2 - Still, no one has answered a question I asked several years ago: where do the goats go in the winter? We're used to lowland sightings of elk and deer, but I've never heard similar reports about the mountain goats.

You are right scrooge that will be Jill's task. In terms of wintering habitat
take a look at WDFW There was a better analysis in Northwest Science some time ago, that I linked somewhere in NWHikers a couple of years ago, but cannot track it down at the moment.
Bakes5,
WOW! That's some creative camera work there, along with some fun trampoline action. Very Cool!
I'm still learning and working towards creating better quality videos. I think this one is a step forward, but not where I want to eventually end up. This one plays back pretty good at the 480p setting. One of these days I'll find the sweet codex and all will be Heavenly, until then I hope you find some pleasure in my latest attempt.
Cheers!
I uploaded the same video to Vimeo and it's playback at full screen is almost as good as good as the source video. Worth viewing at F S.
