Thanks for all your hard work out there RodF. Hopefully the trails will not end up with as much damage this next winter.

My wife and went up the Upper Gray Wolf and up to Cedar Lake on 4th of July weekend. I actually didn't think the avalanche was all that bad to navigate... Cedar Lake trail wasn't bad either.
That's welcome news, Chris! Thank you. We're heading up to Deer Park Friday afternoon, hitting the trail Sat. morning. Also planning to spend a night at Cedar Lake.

Have fun up there, Rod. The ground around the lake was still quite soft when we were there but I'm sure its starting to firm up as more of the snowmelt drains out. Caught and released some nice rainbows up there, it must be a reproducing population. I think you'll find that the avalanche area, while VERY impressive, didn't destroy very much trail. While we're on the subject of the Gray Wolf Trail, when did the asshat burn down Falls Shelter?

October 2005. Hmm, come to think of it, wasn't that only weeks after OPA's proud announcement that they'd won a court case forbidding the Park from replacing destroyed shelters? Must be one of those amazing coincidences that just happens sometimes... like being struck by lightning twice.
