So once again, under different conditions I found myself up on Burch Ridge with my wife. It's a short drive for a hike fix. The snow is gone so it's a pleasant dirt road walk. The wildflowers are near peak, and the blue skies, warm temps, with the scenic mountain views were great.

Nice. Love those open ridges. agree.gif Larch and I have been up there several times, but always sandwiched in between family stuff in Wenatchee, so we've never had time for a real hike. Looks like we'll have to do something about that. Did you go directly up from Sunnyslope? And if so, did you go all the way up to the gate? or take that spur that starts a little further down and heads off across the slope to the north? or something else, entirely?

Something lost behind the ranges. Lost and waiting for you....... Go and find it. Go!

Scrooge I didn't put our route up as I had done so on a previous report, but early season I have started from Knowles Rd. eek.gif , and snowshoed winter from as far as I can get up Burch Mtn. road (initially from 1300') eek.gif , which is a long way up and back along the N orth Ridge to the true summit which is around 4998' or so. But you can drive up Burch Rd. all the way to just East of the South highpoint with the radio towers (it's 7 miles, with 800-1000' of gain ), if you know where you are going you can take a forest road further N along the ridge. We started at the intersection of the radio tower road and the North Ridge road. up.gif

Yeah. Thanks. That's where Larch and I have started. We just haven't gone very far. frown.gif
