This ended up being a great weekend. The weather cooperated and more than one person commented how the American Ridge Lodge was the perfect spot to hold a NWHikers campout. A big thanks to wamtngal for suggesting the location and Tom for securing the reservation. Car pooling in two vehicles the first group to arrive on Friday afternoon was Alti-Babe and I, the Dude, (with Rowena and Kiefer), dicey, raz2sea, Bryan, wamtngal, and Just Todd. After settling in we headed up to the American Ridge trail which runs within sight distance of the lodge and took a nice stroll. When we arrived back GeoTom and GeoDani (with Jasper) were there to greet us. Puzzlr, cartman, and obitonykenobi arrived during the evening and Slugman (plus Daisy) rounded out the Friday crew when he arrived around 11:00. On Saturday morning some of us went out to attempt to climb Mount Aix (trip report coming) while the others stayed to hang out by the fire. When we arrived back a party had broken out! Sarbar, dicentra and their kids had come by for just the day. Rich Baldwin with his son had arrived and had cooked enough food for an army. Captain Trips, ronski, ree, ree's friend Denise, and kleet were also in full party mode. Soon after Action Betty and her son (with Mr. Big) drove up and she started cooking for a second army. Then Slugman cooked up some sesame steak kabobs on the campfire just in case we didn't have enough food already. Finally, Tom, Dayhike Mike, Tazz, and mtnman showed up so we could really get down to business. We ate, joked, and sang (yes, there was singing!) around the campfire well into the early hours of Sunday. party.gif banana.gif rockband.gif drink.gif cheers.gif party.gif Unfortunately, on Sunday it was time to head home. We cleaned up, packed up our gear, and headed out. We headed home but various destinations mentioned were Naches Mountain, the Boulder Caves, Union Creek falls, and fishing at Bumping Lake. Looks like we have a few more trip reports to look forward to. I'm sure many photos and stories are coming soon!

Well, I'll add what I said on the other thread: I had fun biggrin.gif LOL!!! Well, after Dicentra and I drove oh nearly 400 freaking miles to mooch food we got home last night. She dumped me off at 11:30 pm so it must have been 12:30 am for her! Cayuse Pass looking to the locked gate for Chinook. AGH!!!! Ya know if that stupid thing had been open we'd have saved 120 miles of driving. Ah well.

Kind of reminds me of:

Ree, her friend Denise and I arrived at about 10am Saturday, thinking we'd arrive before everyone headed out for the day. We missed the party by about 45 minutes, as almost everyone had headed for Mt. Aix. We did find obitonykenobi, razz2sea and Slugman and Daisy holding down the fort.

Darn, I told my evil twin to stay home. He must have jumped in the trunk. I've got 8 witnesses that I was on Aix!
