Second this! It's amazing that she was able to make it to the top of Hawkins, given her condition: the mound of Esmeralda is a fitting backdrop. I remember her fondly as having inspired my boys' scrambling exploits. 2dd

About that last picture: Hey! That's my car! Careful with that ice axe man!
Seriously, though, that red Rav 4 in the last picture is mine (actually, it is my wife's but I was driving it that day). I went up Hawkins that day. I got a late start hoping the weather would improve as the day wore on (it didn't). It is funny to see only tracks throughout the day amongst miles of open country and then get back to civilization and see who made them. Pretty cool.
