A day after my wonderful bear encounter with my wife schedule I was in a bind for time so I decided to knock off easy Quartz Mountain. THis peak roughly 4.5 miles roundtrip and 700 feet elevation from Selkirk Lodge is normally a good trail run and can be done in a little over an hour. It is essentially a road walk. Today due to the fact that I was tired from yesterday and there was still snow on the 40% of the fire road to the summit lookout tower it took me about 2 hours.
The lookout tower is not open right now and probaby wont be open until next weekend at earliest. Just below the summit is a cool looking former (I believe) quartz mine. Good views can be seen of the Spokane Valley from the summit as well of future destination peaks in Idaho and Eastern Washington. On this trip I did not see any major wildlife however on the way down I had a couple of bucks who kept trying to cross the road. It made for an interesting trip down but luckily none of them charged my car. Overall another decent hike to keep me in condition for better mountains to come.

This is what I have gathered from your last three trip reports:
A) Snakes are trying to fang you
B) Bears are trying to maul you
C) Deer are trying to make you crash your car
What have you done to irritate the wildlife so much?
