Snoqualmie Mtn is such a great hike. Lots of bang for the short (although steep) distance. And the sunsets are almost always spectacular. Plenty of food, beverages and fun on the summit and descent. Night glissading - is there anything better? TNAB Summit Social Rainier looking mighty fine Mt Hinman TNAB founder Matt with Digger Soft golden evening light Snows are finally leaving the high country! Spectacular summit sunset End of another day Last of the crazy night glissaders!

Another TNAB Solstice for the Schmidt Altitude team and it certainly didn't disappoint. Those night glissades have to be a tradition for the solstice hike from now on I think.
Gaining some elevation Yukon heads up the ridge The clouds try to impersonate Rainier Textured sky Dig in TNABers! Mazzy says, "throw me a frickin' bone, people!" TNAB Snoqualmie Solstice Tahoma and clouds Only manly men can drink chocolate blueberry martinis. Ahhhh, orange the way it was meant to be. We're starting to wonder about the "and my aussies" part, Rich ;-) Yes! I have just captured the best sunset picture and am uploading it now to flickr! :P

Yes, I agree. He's getting some unique perspectives. And his technique is much improved. I wonder if someone gave him some pointers?

Some people refer to me as a "soul toucher" since I go above and beyond the call of duty to try to obtain the soul of the wilderness through my panos.

My first TNAB Solstice and another first-ascent summit for me; what more could one ask for, besides my ax, which was safely stashed in my vehicle far from where it might have been practically applied ?
Great people, a quick stiff climb, perfect views, aliens, great picture opportunities, the PANORAMANATOR, Night Glissades through tree wells, shrimp cocktail, the best summit cheese, four (!) volcanoes, sunset, and even brushwhacking through slide alder in the dark (if you so choose). A lot to fit into a couple hours after work.
A 14-hour workday started reeeeal early at 6am Friday

Nothing beats a summer solstice hiking adventure ala TNAB style lots of stair steppin' in the snow, but it was worth the views and party at the top the rump n' bump on the way down was...well...bumpy. Thanks for the good food and good time everyone!
