when I went to Astronomy Picture of the Day today I was a bit chagrined to find not an astrophoto of some wonderful object or subject, but a still frame from some danged video of some goob dancing. Still, since they know what they're doing at APOD and the copy says few can watch it without smiling, I decided to give it a shot. And it's true..a short while into it I was smiling and thinking what a great place we all live in. regardless of our disagreements on cairns and flags, guns dogs or horse poo, global warming or SUV's, or all the other stuff that bedevils us, cut yourself a break and check out this simple but sweet video of a guy dancing his way around the world. In the face of the inexplicably massive universe and all it's anonymous travails and unknown forces tossing us like foam on the ocean, we can smile and dance in the face of it all. Thank you for the chance, creation. dancing

Smiling, laughing and dancing - THE universal languages. I wish I could find someone to finance me doing a sequel :) Thanks.

You have no idea how much I was hoping to pick out Dane doing the happy guy dance in front of gasworks. Almost made it through without smiling, but then fat people dancing did me in...

Dancing: The outtakes
Check out the first one. Yeah, I can see why he wouldn't be stepping out too much with his moves.

Sadly, right now I'm a poseur. Sigh.

I love that guy!!! His simple little dance has become an international sensation. He's such a good will ambassador..pure joy! My favorites are the DMZ, Papua new Guinea and the litle kids in Madagascar. Oh, and in a different film he did the dance out on this really exposed boulder/chockstone...don't know where it was but it looked realy scary!
