Yes, it is my opinion that trees are indeed scenery. Snags, contorted alpine trees and lowland valley trees have their own special beauty for admiration. Of course, seasons can bring out the best of trees, too. Larches and deciduous trees come to mind.

I'm digging up this old thread, because the other day I visited this spot, deep in the woods, and couldn't help but think that it had as much magic as the most sweeping of views. And all of it was due to the trees and how they were preening in the morning sunshine:

Certainly trees are scenery. It's a different kind of scenery. Exactly what vibe you get depends on what kind of woods you're in.
