It was a scorcher Thursday on Skyline Divide - and crowded. We counted 40 cars in the parking lot when we started up at 10:30. A WTA trail crew was working on the lower trail & was finished with the job when we left, so the trail is in great shape.
The bugs weren't too bad but it was really hot with only an occasional breeze. We were fried before we could get to the top where the trail peters out on the way to Hadley.
A few photos from the day:

Nice pics and TR Schroder. I was just discussing this destination with a coworker today.
My trip there a couple years ago left me without views... glad to see the road is open and the views bountiful!

The flowers are spectacular right now. I try to get up there at least once every year & I seemed to have timed it perfectly for the bloom. Even with a lot of people, this area is large enough that they're not noticeable when you're up there. It's also a great place to bring someone for a first hike - it's a fairly steep first mile through the woods and then you suddenly break out of it to the view of Baker in that last photo. If you want an extra challenge, you can follow the ridge 5 miles and climb Hadley Peak.
