Volunteered for a WTA backcountry response team. Had a great time with the trail maintenance and then a super hike up to the lake and beyond.
Full trip report, photos and video can be viewed at: http://mikeshikes.blogspot.com/

I recently ran across several WTA work parties and that little voice told me to make a deposit in the Karma bank. I' will doing it again in the future. Learned a bunch of stuff and had a great time.

Thank you Grizzy for your efforts and YES, Jessi was our assistant leader. What an amazing person. Both leaders, Laurie and Jessi, were so good at making the work and fun blend together. I swear they were a perfectly balanced blending of ying & yang that would have made Mary Poppins proud.
It is because of them that I will be volunteering with the WTA again.

Thank you for the post Mike&Kiwi and welcome to the forum. I personally really appreciate the work that you and other members of the WTA do for our local trails. I mean to get out there one day and do my fair share as well. Maybe when I get back down to Washington...

I did a WTA week long last week and it was a very good experience. I'm considering doing one of the BCRTs in September......

Thank you all for the friendly welcome and kind comments. It felt good inside when we helped improve the trail. If you haven't had the opportunity to do trail maintenance, even the one day events, you're missing out on a worthwhile endeavor. I'll never look at a trail the same way again. LOL
TagMan, I've got some left over gummi bears, their good and squishy now. :-)
