8 miles 4,000ft of gain. Snow in basin below Headlee Pass. Used ice axe and helmet from here on out to summit. BUT, the snow going up up Headlee Pass is almost gone and was able to avoid most of it up the pass. Snow at Lake. Traversed east around lake and up to saddle between Vesper and Sperry. A little caution with transition from snow to rock below saddle. Cless 3 rock up to saddle. Caught climbers trail on and off to summit. No snow from saddle to summit. Nice class 2-3 scramble with little exposure. Used crampons, to descend from base of saddle on the way back and around lake. Bring water filter if a hot day to filter at outlet of Lake Elan. Equipment Ice axe HELMET, crampons optional water filter Beautiful day in the mountains Wonderful views L
