I want to get to Joe lake this weekend and Im completely over using the PCT so much over the Katwalk. Has anyone gone around the pair of avalanches at Gold Creek. Not interested in massive amounts of death or loghopping, might lose my flask doing something like that. Also......the B.H.C. sounds like my kind of scene...good hikes, good people and even better booze. If your a member then take me to your leader...

Sorry - no beta from me for you (last reports I saw were of skiers who headed over big slides in stable conditions back in ski season), but I'm wondering what the B.H.C. is?

ahhh field notes of course! thanks for the link. Im a mostly solo hiker, surpisingly I enjoy it alot but the Barstool Hiking Club sounds like fun....tequila trailside? wine in the misty heights? Its perfect.

Have not heard o f Barstool Hiking Club. Hopefully barstools are titanium and not heavy wooden ones which would make packing them a drag?
