This area is in the Chugach State Park just outside Anchorage and could not feel farther away from civilization. We took a shuttle bus to the trailhead and hitchhiked back to the city when we were done. It is a wonderful place to visit if you have the chance.
Dang Ashley. Youre killing me here. Keep up the addictive Alaska posts! Very very nice. Ten thumbs up.

Wow! Thanks for the bringing back the memories. I've been to all those places as day hikes. Only did an overnight to the ballfield once and the Willawas once. Aren't the Willawa's prime? Not to bad considering the trailhead is only 15 minutes from town!
The Williwaws are magical. And Ship Lake, oh my. This place is so amazing and feels so adventurous while sooo close to the city. I can only imagine how amazing it is a little farther out! I want to go back now!
beautiful!
i was in anchorage a couple of years back for the marathon. i thought park of the course was in Chugach Park but it was icky compared to your outrageous photos!
