We returned to Sunrise, taking advantage of our annual Nat'l Park pass. Getting a mid-day start, we strolled on mostly bare ground to Sunrise Camp at 1.3 miles. Here are several bare campsites at the old car campground (abandoned some years ago). Shouldering much lighter packs, we embarked on a journey up the Wonderland Trail. Snow started in earnest at the camp and continued at about 50% coverage all the way to Skyscraper Pass. It's an easy walk to the summit with wonderful views.
Hey Barb, yeah, it would have been a hoot to run into you. We were up there Saturday. Skyscraper is a fun hike! What amazing views!
I've just discovered Sunrise and what a neat area to explore. Grand Park looked so enticing. Not sure if it's mosquito feast time tho.
