We drove the Salmon La Sac road and shortly after passing the road to Cooper Lake on our left... we took FS 4315 on the right side of the road... the gate at 2700' was open, allowing us to drive to the closed gate at 4600', where we parked... then a half-mile road walk got us to Sasse Ridge and the trail for Sasse Mtn.
After several downs and ups on Sasse Ridge we reached the Sasse Mtn summit (5730')... where we found very limited views... however, if you enjoy treed summits, you will like this one a lot.
We found the best views on a rock out-cropping just off of the trail, between Point 5610 and the Sasse Mtn summit.
5.9 miles roundtrip, gaining 1910 feet of elevation.

Hey, I think I sat on that very log and enjoyed the same less-than-panoramic views.
In addition to the outlook you visited north of the summit, another fine viewpoint is the bump about 1/3 of a mile west of the Sasse summit. It is an easy scramble.
Kudos to you for visiting one of the lesser traveled summits.
