Jack is a butt-kicker of a mountain! But man-oh-man, were those views worth it, and it was great to finally climb a big one with Randy and Don B.
Here are some pics I took on the approach:

No shortage of loose rock, huh? Sounds like fun (not! ) Way to go, you three. Jack looks like great views. I'd be jealous, but then again, I know how hard you worked for your summit.

Not sure what others think, but the three of us all thought Jack to be overall a harder climb than Bonanza. While the climbing on the face is somewhat easier, it's more sustained and has much more loose rock. Very, very few places to safely rap as well, not that you'd want to with all the loose rock anyway. Throw in the long approach and you've got a tough mountain to crack.
Sweet pictures Mark!

Glad you guys made it back safe. When we were at Jerry Lakes the other year we met two guys that went up Jack and summited but said it wasn't worth the risk.

It was a privilege to witness the "before" and "after" of this trip. I would have welcomed all three of you with open arms at 1 am on Monday morning but, you know, you didn't exactly smell like roses.
Thanks for the TR, Randy! It tells the story that the photos allude to. However, I love the photos!
Charming, to be sure!

More Pics - I took about 150, and to my surprise, many came out alright...can't go wrong with bluebird conditions and abundant natural beauty!
