BBQ on Rattlesnake Ledge: 9/18/08 Another TNAB season, another reason to celebrate! We gathered once again at Rattlesnake Ledge for the annual cookout (closest Thursday to the Autumnal Equinox). The views were...ok, there were no views, but the food and the company was outstanding. Attendees: The Magellan Family, The EWB Family, The M. Constants (Don and Lynda), The Lykkens, Schmidt Altitude, Larry, Magnum (Chris), Runningbird (Peggy) , QG (Joseph), BarbE, Yukon222 (Steve), Yet and Yet's Truly As usual, we had more stuff than we could all eat (or drink). New innovation (to me at least) was to top a veggie burger with BarbE's yummy potato salad - great idea! The party lasted for over 90 minutes, as everyone got their fill of fun. Then darkness settled in, signaling it was time to clean up and depart. The last of us left the Ledge shortly after 8 PM. No need to go to the Pourhouse this night! Now let's see those pics, party people!

Cheers, Mesahchie Mark

Yes, a very good time! I also must recommend the potato salad/hot dog on a hamburger bun combo that was just perfect. However, people didn't drink enough of the blue 151 koolaid I brought since I had to haul over half of it back down rant.gif .

Well, there aren't any signs that say you CAN'T fire up a barbecue grill on Rattlesnake Ledge, so I guess it must be okay.

Heated by small propane canister, not lighter fluid/briquettes.

Wouldn't a jet boil or pocket rocket have been lighter and easier to carry? confused.gif hockeygrin.gif

Oh, I'm sure they're pretty lenient about firing up propane canisters within the Cedar River Watershed.

The ledge is NOT in the watershed boundaries. Here's a link so you can know the boundaries for future reference. http://www.seattle.gov/UTIL/stellent/groups/public/@spu/@ssw/documents/webcontent/strolling_200312081358153.pdf

I think we have a closet park ranger in our midst! (Not that there is anything wrong with that...) Looks like a good time gang - sorry I had to miss. One more, right?

Dang - that was fun. Great company and terrific assortment of food and beverages. I'm glad I missed out on the vile looking Kool-Aid.
