Talk about good weather. Exciting! Equally as exciting, upon arriving in Leavenworth to pick up our permit we learned there was an 'Enchantments Zone' permit available if we'd like. Would we? Of course! Decision time: to enter via Snow or Colchuck? Colchuck/Aasgard won.
To camp IN the basins was really a treat. Over the next four days I wandered with a smile on my face, climbed Little Annapurna, ventured up Prusik Pass, dropped into Gnome Tarn, walked ridges, soaked up the sun, listened to babbling waterways, gazed into super-clear waters, hopped rocks to Excalibur, observed goats everywhere, exchanged words with happy fellow hikers, and generally had one of those 'pretty close to perfect' trips. It was good. Photo opportunities never ceased, the full set can be seen here.

I need to get back up there again. Let's all pray for good weather in October.

Mmmm, photos! Good choice on the entry - we were up there 11-14 and decided to go in via Snow since we have never been there before (we've seen Colchuck Lake before). Once we made it up to Viviane, we were in complete agreement that we did NOT want to go back down that long, dusty trail, so we went down Aasgard and got a ride back to our car. Next time I am definitely going up Aasgard!

Very nice. You really hit the nice weather.
It was much different when we were there the last week of August. It was cold, very windy and there was a dusting of snow one morning.

Beautiful! One part I really loved when I did this trip was the big Stonehenge rocks at the top of Little Annapurna. Your pictures of the trail leading up to the big funky rocks are great.

On 9/10 I day hiked up Aasgard and headed towards Prusik and Gnome tarn for the standard photo op before heading back to the TH. Maybe we crossed paths? I really like your Little Annapurna and Little Stonehenge pix. Based on your pix i wish i had headed up Little Annapurna instead.

You Made It! What a wonderful trip, mtngrl. Four days in heaven.
.....leaving me wanting to return over and over in what ever capacity that may be, even if one day my knees are too old and I can only see the mountains from my porch.

isn't Oct 15th the start of the "no permits" time? I know I can look it up, and RTFM, and etc... but I say it this way instead to see how many of the NW Hinkers will be doing the mad dash up like me
