hoping the weather would hold today, my friend angela and i headed to attempt kaleetan via the class 2 route. using b00's report, finding the way trail was not an issue. around 5000', snow started flying. rocks were slick and icy in spots and given that there would have been zero view from the summit, we turned back at 5700' just before dropping off the ridge for the final scramble up. the snow in the trees was a nice backsplash again the sporadic fall colors. still, it was good to be out and get soaked for a couple hours.
Looks awfully familiar. Sorry you didn't have any views to speak of either. Great hike trail condition wise though, hope you enjoyed the exercise & the berries!
