So this is where you went without me shakehead.gif I think you're just trying to keep ahead of me in the number of summits. Oh, and Alti-Dude, sorry I barked at you Sunday night. It was late and I didn't recognize you without Rowena and Kiefer by your side.

How long have you been waiting to use that caption..? Ugh, some summits just don't seem worth it...but trips like this are going to just feel funny and somewhat epic as you look back at them in a couple of years. smile.gif Sorry about the axe and the pole! frown.gif

Hmmm, looks like a familiar trip. wink.gif Sounds like y'all took more or less the same route up we did, though came back down a slightly different way. Glad you guys had lots of sunshine at the summit, unlike the sunset we had. embarassedlaugh.gif Yeah, that slide alder sucks ass. down.gif
Have to admit, we did think about your epic a few times that day. I wanted to title the trip report "Eightmile: Now In Half The Time!" but I wasn't sure if some people would think that was funny. I didn't add this to the original post because the speadsheet was on my work computer. Climbers seems to like lists (Bulger List, Home Court 100, Teanaway 20, Bakers Dozen, etc.) so I thought there should be one of all the peaks in the Enchantment Zone. I came up with the Enchanted Eighteen, what do you think? The only ones without the standard amount of prominence are Little A which is on the Bulger List, plus Prusik and Witches Tower which are prominent sights in the Enchantments.
  1. Mount Stuart 9415
  2. Dragontail Peak 8840
  3. Colchuck Peak 8705
  4. Cannon Mountain 8638
  5. Sherpa Peak 8605
  6. Enchantment Peak 8520
  7. Witches Tower 8520
  8. Cashmere Mountain 8501
  9. Argonaut Peak 8453
  10. Little Annapurna 8440
  11. McClellan Peak 8364
  12. The Temple 8292
  13. Prusik Peak 8000
  14. Eightmile Mountain 7996
  15. Jack Ridge 7800
  16. Three Musketeers Ridge 7680
  17. Axis Peak 7550
  18. Edward Peak 7280

What about Wedge Mountain? hmmm.gif Of course, the Enchanted 18 has a better sound to it than the Enchanted 19. Edited to add: The Leavenworth 8

Dude - interesting list idea, but what about that Elf Ridge near Cannon Mtn that we went up during the 4 day tour in July. Wasn't it up there in elevation? Or does it fail on list entry due to prominence?

The Leavenworth 8 seems to leave out a lot of the named prominence peaks in the area. It just focuses on the Stuart Range (+ Cashmere) so a more appropriate title would be the Stuart 8. If we want to include Wedge then we have to eliminate one of the others, probably Prusik since it really is just a high point on Temple Mountain. Elf Ridge doesn't have the prominence or name recognition of the others. I went with 18 because of the alliteration but it could be expanded. Plus, the Baker's Dozen has 18 peaks so we're not bound by the number.

It was on a TNAB he picked the Red one.

Will everyone in the US get a free Mr. Pibb? drink.gif

A free taco would be good if your album is going to be Salsa or Tejano music, but if it is hard rock, like if the band is called The 8-Mile Experience and you are playing the Star Spangled Banner on your ice ax (which of course is on fire), then a taco is not recommended, so Mr. Pibb or maybe Monster Energy drink would be a better freebie. rockband.gif

Actually, we were think more along the lines of gangsta' rap/krunk. We'd be walking around stage using our pimp canes (ice axes) and giving away free 40oz. of Schlitz Malt Liquor.

Actually, Alti-Dude had some sort of pink/orange fruity, girly type drink* at the restaurant while I had a beer. A large beer. *It actually looked like it might have tasted good, but the color? rolleyes.gif
