Here it is a rainy, dismal Friday, a good opportunity to post a TR from last Sun-Mon. My pal Wayne and I conspired to take advantage of a stellar weather forecast and get out for an overnight to Tuck and Robin Lakes.
Left Seattle pretty early, stopped for a second breakfast at the Cruise-In in Roslyn, and by the time we got to the trailhead, 3,350 ft, we were headed up by 11am. Made it up to Tuck Lake, 5,300 ft, pretty easily by around 2pm. Decided to push on to camp at Robin.
On the Ridge from Tuck to Robin Looking back at Tuck Lake
The ridge above Tuck had a nice coating of snow which was close to a foot in drift spots. Made for slippery going at times and it a little difficult to find the spot to cut over to the gully up to Robin. Eventually we got on track, found the slot to the gully and made it to Robin, 6,200 ft. No big surprise that we had the whole place to ourselves. Luckily we found the one snow free area big enough for our tent. Temps were down to about mid 30's and the wind was blowing a steady 15-20 mph, so it was getting chilly really fast as the sun set.
Tired doggy
Despite a big rock as a wind block, our stove had a heck of a time boiling up the pot of water. And then we had to eat fast as the wind was cooling down our dinner faster than we could shovel it down. Crawled into the tent around 8pm to get out of the wind. Talked for a while as the wind continued to shake the tent and snap the nylon. By 8:30pm we were all passed out including Casey.
Next morning we awoke to perfect stillness and cloudless skies.Cozy dog ... no one wants to be the first to get up
Rousted ourselves to get some good early morning sunrise pics. Great views of Mt Daniel.

Then had some breakfast and headed out to scramble to the top of Trico Mtn, 6,600 ft.
Scrambled in and out of snow on the way to Trico. Great views of Granite Potholes along the way.Trico Mtn over Granite Pot Hole Looking at Trico Tom, Wayne and Trico Trico Mtn Lk Phoebe and Lk Leland
Upon reaching the top we had awesome 360 deg views. Temps were now around 60 F with no wind so it was really comfortable.
Before too long, headed back down.Headed back to camp. Camp at Robin Lake
Packed up our camp and reluctantly left Robin. It was now close to 3pm and temps had been up to around to 70 F but were starting to fall.Enjoying 70 deg Sunshine
With all the sunshine and warm weather was hard to believe this was late October.

Got back to the car in darkness at around 7pm. Stopped at The Brick and inhaled bugers washed down with a nice Roslyn dark amber. Good way to end a super late season trip.

I just re-loaded the panos so they are not so huge and are much more viewable. I also added a label on what I think is Eldorado in the second pano. Can anybody tell me if I've got that right?

Thanks for the report and pictures. Different look at Lake Leland and Phoebe. I hiked into those lakes from the Icicle side so never got the view that you had. Phoebe and Jungfrau were neat lakes to visit but I think you got the better view.

Really like the alpenglow photo, and also the lake photos.

Great report. Tuck and Robin had crossed my mind on Monday, but I decided to get stuck in the snow at Mt David instead. Saw your Eldorado stuff too. Nice!

I was thinking that Eldorado would be somewhere to the left of Glacier when viewing it from Trico Mountain. Maybe between Mt. Baker and Glacier Peak Peak but closer to Glacier Peak.
