I hiked up to Devil's Rest the other afternoon via Multnomah Falls. It was a perfect day, and the wind that usually roars down the Gorge was absent, giving the Columbia River the appearance of glass, and reflecting fall colors in its surface. I took a long hard look at the views, knowing that the wet winter was arriving in just a couple of days!
