The only one I've ever found, was the one along Butte Fork Trail in Red Buttes Wilderness. A 1945 or so crash. One engine remains and an aluminumn battery case. Battery too. Virtually nothing else. Almost straight downhill from the plaque memorial along the trail.

This is an amazing find for me and my sisters. My dad's first cousin was the navigator in one of the jets that crashed. We've been doing a little research, including a DOD report on the crash, and stumbled across this thread. It's very interesting to pull this info together. Ironically my uncle on my mom's side flew the same jet. He's read through the DOD report and speculates the lead pilot was hyperoxic and made bad decisions. George Vondriska
