Kim and I did South Bessemer yesterday (12/08), following the route described at http://www.midfork.org/. Not much else to report regarding this road slog other than it took us five hours round trip and we hit snow at about 2500 feet. This was our fourth hike together since returning from India. For the record, we also did Mailbox (11/5), Humpback (11/14) and Gardner (12/3). I must admit that, in general, the scenery in India was a bit more ... spectacular.
As usual, we adjourned to the Mt Si Tavern afterwards for pints of IPA. One recent conversation at that fine establishment went something like this:
Kim (to bartender): "Do you have any of those mini-microwave pizzas?"
Bartender: "Yep, but they're not very good."
Tim: "That's okay. We're not looking for quality."
Bartender: "Well, you came to the right place!"

Actually, it was pretty good. Would've been better if we'd been able to see anything.

Compared to India scenery, all the hikes you mention suck for sure. Maybe you should pick more scenic hikes?
Or bring skis....

Yeah, those clearcuts don't immediately jump right out at ya with a little snow on them.
Nice picture though.
