Sea level corrected pressure at midnight here at home east of Redmond is 29.35". Raw uncorrected pressure is 28.76". It's pretty low.

11/11/2011 2:06 pm The barometric pressure is down to 29.40 and still falling. Is this remnants of the Gulf of Alaska storm?

I don't have a barometer, but here in Portland it's getting darker and darker, and the wind is getting stronger and stronger. This is just in the last hour. Looks like the rain will start any minute now. Yes, it's supposed to be the remnants of the great Alaska storm--hopefully calmed down a bit!

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.--E.Abbey

I guess I'm in between Portland and Seattle. Heavy duty rain, like a November storm, and an occasional breeze. But now I'm seing my trees move more. So I guess it is here.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

It's snowing like mad in some of the passes. The telemetry numbers are whacky, which happens when the wind blows hard. Chains or AWD required on SR 542.

Indeed. Hopefully we'll get a nice "compaction" event followed by more snow, rinse, repeat, for a great early touring snowpack. Any bets on when Stevens, Snoqualmie, and Crystal will open? It's nice to see white frosting on everything at Snoqualmie this AM. The road at Stevens has compact snow and ice, traction tires advised.
